Michelle Obama on Tonight Show Tells Sly Fib About Affordable Care Act

Let's be honest, folks.  Logic in this case exposes a sly fib spoken by Michelle Obama...

Michelle Obama, wife of Mr. Obama, elected President of the United States was seen on the Tonight Show with new host Jimmy Fallon promoting healthy eating and exercise along with the Affordable Care Act.

Mrs. Obama stated, "Young people are knuckleheads."  (Respectful?)

As reported through the Washington Examiner, Mrs. Obama said, "Young people can now get insurance for as little as fifty dollars a month, less than the cost of gym shoes."  Then, when the knuckleheads cut a finger or fall off of a bar stool and need emergency treatment they will have insurance.

True and Not True
True: The knuckleheads will have an insurance plan.

Not True: The insurance plan upon which they have been paying will most likely not pay for the emergency room or urgent care visit to fix a cut finger or sore and broken parts incurred when falling off a bar stool.  Any insurance plan that costs $50 a month will have a high deductible, meaning that the whole expense for medical care will be paid by the insured person, not their insurance plan.

Minimum Wage Debate and Minnesota District 5 Representative Keith Ellison Flawed Logic

Posted to Representative Keith Ellison's Facebook page on February 18, 2014:
Working Minnesota moms are often the primary breadwinners in families, but the pay gap between men and women forces many families to live at or below poverty. Thousands of families will be pulled out of poverty if we just pay hard working women the wages they earn.

My response:
Something is wrong here. How will raising the minimum wage solve the issue of equality in the work place? They are two different issues. 1. Minimum wage is one issue. 2. Equal pay for men and women doing the  the same job is one issue. All people, both men and women who work at minimum wage jobs earn the same wage, which is the minimum. Mr. Ellison, you couldn't have possibly thought this through with any kind of logic at all.

What Christians Do Every Day

Prayer: Daily Spiritual Food
Q: What do Christians do every day?
A:  Pray!

In the Gospels of Matthew and Luke, chapters 6 and 11 respectively, our Lord Jesus Christ gave his teaching on prayer, the Lord's Prayer saying,

"in this manner therefore pray," Matthew 6:9, and "when you pray, say..." Luke 11:2.

Time Sensitive
The Lord's Prayer consisting of only 55 words is really short and actually just right for the person on the move, the busy parent, the time challenged student.

Mobility
The Lord's prayer is completely mobile and excellent for today's fast paced society, since being only 55 words it is easily memorized to take with you wherever you go.

To download to your computer: Right click with your mouse and save.
To save to your mobile device, iphone or ipad: Tap and hold, choose save.

Q: When do Christians pray?
A: Every day!

Jesus Christ taught us to pray during what is called his Sermon on the Mount.  Thousands, multitudes, listened that day.  Christ said, when you pray... and in the Lord's prayer he taught us in the fourth petition to ask, give us this day our daily bread."

In that one word, daily, our Savior gave direction on how often we are to pray the Lord's Prayer, or a prayer modeled on this prayer.  We ask for our daily bread, meaning that we have prayed for one day's needs.

What then about the next day, and the next, and the next?  We are to pray again tomorrow, and the next day, and the next.  We are to pray each day.

Morning Wake Up
In the morning we prepare our body for the day by showering, putting on the right clothes, and eating a good breakfast. These are the needs we take care of ourselves, yet we must not forget our most important need which is mental and emotional nourishment, and that is spiritual food.  All the things we do for ourselves are for our bodies, the outside or what we are.  Remember, however, it is who we are that counts, and for that we need spiritual food that can only come from God.

How to Fix Photos That Show Sideways when Loaded from Windows

by Mary Katherine May of QualityMusicandBooks.com

Sometimes no matter what I do my photos will upload from Windows looking sideways. Though I have found that if I take photos with my camera or iphone held in one particular position this doesn't happen, just today it did!

If you have had this problem I may have a solution for you.  Generally I edit my photo images with Microsoft Office where I can crop pictures, edit color, brightness and contrast, rotate and fix red eye. This editing system along with the paint feature do a good job for most of my needs.

Here are the steps to try when your photos won't upload to the internet with the top and bottom where they should be.  This may seem like a long process but in the end you will have the result you want.

1.   Click on your photo to highlight (select)
2.   Click Open
3.   Click Paint
4.   Click File>Save As>PNG>Save.

If you miss that window you can click on save as type and choose PNG, then save.

5.   Close paint by clicking File>Close or clicking on the X in the upper right corner.

6.   Click F5 at the top of your keyboard to refresh.
7.   Click on your .png photo to highlight (select)
8.   Click Open
9.   Click Paint
10. Click File>Save As>JPG>Save.
11. Repeat number 5.
12. Upload your photo to the internet.

Children Are a Testing Ground for Love Mary Katherine May

Just a thought from Mary Katherine May ...

Even when anything...I am always here,
and I love.
Children are a testing ground of love. Unconditional love, as our Heavenly Father offers us, means loving always, no matter what, no matter when. We have not all been offered that kind of love by our parents, and that is very sad--yet there is one source that never fails. God created, and it was good. God loves no matter what we think, or do, or say. We sometimes mix up love with consequences of actions and they are not the same. Even when it hurts I love. Even when I am disappointed I love. Even when anything...I am always here, and I love.
